Diagnostic Criteria

In response to the routine, 'are you allergic to any foods or medications?' I once had a schizophrenic Filipino patient scream, 'I ONLY EAT TOMATOES ANH EGGS, NO!'

I admittedly laughed in his face because that was not what I asked and I was very tired and it was my first job of the night and had been off for several days and he was SO SERIOUS.

But today, I find myself peeling a hard boiled egg over the counter recalling many nights when I did the same thing only to place several of them on a plate with sliced up tomatoes.
